GCSE & A Level Music Homework Kit 1
This resource contains five sets of homework built around Ballet and Dance melodies. It is part of a collection of three Homework Kits designed for GCSE and A Level Music students. The other two kits (inspired by Operatic and Orchestral Melodies) can be purchased separately, or you can buy the complete bundle for best value.
Originally created for my own GCSE and A Level candidates, these tasks are easily adaptable for a range of learners. For instance, if the dictation tasks feel too challenging, you can provide extra clues on the student copies.

This product is a digital download. Once purchased you will receive links to download student sheets + teacher mark scheme + mp3 files of the aural test music.
- Each question allows the teacher to decide how many times to play the extract.
- Backing tracks are provided, though you may also play them live.
- Every track begins with a key chord followed by a metronome count-in.
- Some melodies have been lightly adapted for classroom use.
I created these resources to use these as weekly homework to reinforce pitch and rhythm, but they also integrate well into broader curriculum planning. Each exercise features a well-known melody to decode, plus two or three additional questions to encourage listening and independent research.
My students particularly enjoy recognising famous themes while broadening their musical knowledge. They are also encouraged to find and listen to the original works that inspired each exercise.
